Shari Weiner’s opinion piece, “Women Do Make a Difference in Elected Public Office,” was published in the April issue of New Jersey Municipalities Magazine. As past Mayor of the Township of Livingston and current President of the Women’s Political Caucus of New Jersey, Shari’s article outlines her observations on how women elected to public office make a difference in the public policy agenda and how government functions. Following a career in government relations and service as an elected public official, Sharon Weiner started a second career in the field of law. In her role as an attorney, Ms. Weiner has been able to draw upon her experiences in the representation of her varied private and governmental clients in areas that include land use, municipal, environmental, government relations/lobbying, general administrative and public utility law. Ms. Weiner is a Governmental Affairs Agent registered with the State of New Jersey and serves as Chair of the New Jersey Women's Political Caucus. She is also a member of the Editorial Board of the New Jersey Lawyer newspaper and Assistant Counsel to the New Jersey State League of Municipalities. Just recently, Ms. Weiner was recognized as one of New Jersey’s Best 50 Women in Business by NJBIZ. Ms. Weiner is received her BA from the University of Bridgeport, her MA from George Washington University and her JD from Seton Hall University School Law. She is admitted to practice law in New Jersey, Pennsylvania and New York. She is a member of the Essex County New Jersey and American Bar Associations.
